What is the Big Society?
The Big Society is a government vision (here) to empower the individual and give them a real say about how their lives are run and how they can bring about positive change in their community. It will get them involved in decision making and provide them with the means of real influence and a real feeling of State support with personal enablement

He has indicated that the Big Society means: - communities feeling empowered to solve problems in their neighbourhood, having the freedom to influence and discuss topics that matter to them and a more local approach to social action and responsibility.
